The Fury of the Sun

This painting is part of an ongoing body of work looking at sunlight through a window/frame and how this light bounces, blankets, saturates the environment and then spills through the frame into the room.

Painted on Perspex further emphasises the idea of the windowpane while giving the work a feeling of floating on the wall. These paintings float slightly out from the wall which allows beautiful shadow effects from the transparent areas of the work as light moves across the work at different times of the day. This particular work is looking at those final splashes of sunlight before the darkness of the night blankets everything until sunrise.
