Welcome

Thank you for your support of the 2024 Art House Tour. The visual arts are a key part of the School’s curriculum and the holistic education offered to our young men. During this year’s event, you will see works by current students, Old Boys, several Grammar masters and artists from around New Zealand, all of whom have been happy to share their passion for art with us.

Our thanks are extended to this year’s committee, led by Nicci Magnusson, and the many sponsors, volunteers and supporters who have given of their time and expertise in support of the Foundation Trust. Thank you also to the owners of the beautiful homes made available to us all in this year’s Tour. Their willingness to open their homes is appreciated as it provides a unique twist on the original art exhibition and the opportunity to see original art, almost in situ in many cases.

All funds raised from the Art House Tour will go towards the Academic Endowment Fund which helps the School to recruit, reward and retain the very best masters in our classrooms. On behalf of the School and the Foundation Trust, we are most grateful for your ongoing support of the Visual Arts

Enjoy the beautiful homes and gardens as you prepare to view the artwork that has been curated within them.  Hopefully you will own a piece of art by the end of the day that will adorn your walls for years to come, while also giving back to the Grammar community.

HISTORY OF THE ART HOUSE TOUR

The Auckland Grammar School Foundation Trust launched the annual Art Expo in 2002. Each year, the event featured artists showcasing their artwork with over 2,000 attendees.

In 2016, the Art Expo became the Art House Tour to help establish a point of difference to the other fundraising art shows hosted by other Auckland schools.

2024 marks the fifth biennial Art House Tour, comprising a tour of homes within the Grammar community, as well as an Art Gallery, featuring the work of over 70 local and international artists.

While the homes are for viewing only, the displayed art within them is for sale with all proceeds benefitting the Academic Endowment Fund, allowing the School to recruit, retain and reward the very best teachers. The art is displayed in a salon setting so buyers can envision how the pieces would enrich the décor of their own house.

We would love for you to join us for the 2024 Art House Tour on Saturday 23 November.

The Houses

We have seven beautiful homes within the Grammar community for the 2024 Art House Tour, located across the suburbs of Mt Eden, Epsom, Remuera and Orakei, as well as The Gallery, located in the Old Boys’ Pavilion on campus.

Exact address details will be made available to attendees the week of the Tour.
