Lucy Eglington’s work is all about telling stories and creating narratives. As part of this, she loves to paint people. Her work is in private and public collections internationally and in New Zealand, and she has been a finalist in the Adam Portraiture award, New Zealand’s most prestigious portraiture competition.
Working mainly in oils, Lucy enjoys working on commission, and working with clients to express something personal that they will cherish for a lifetime is a large part of that.

A commissioned portrait which Lucy will create for you post tour. Two sizes /levels of detail are offered here, but Lucy will work with you personally to create a timeless piece that is perfect for your family collection.
PLEASE NOTE: Image is an example of Lucy’s work.
If your needs vary this is absolutely fine, and to be discussed with Lucy on the day at one of the houses.
Lucy will work to create a looser piece that has a less formal ‘polished’ look, that still captures the essence of the sitter and something of their world. Lucy will work with you to decide what’s included and what’s not and what level of detail will help best tell the story. In this example, the face and hands have had a great deal of attention whilst leaving the rest very open to suggest a sense of possibility and freedom.
