Ingrid Boot

Ingrid Boot

Ingrid Boot has been working as a figurative artist for over 20 years and is incredibly passionate about her work. After studying art at Westminster University, London, Ingrid completed an Illustration degree at De Montfort University in 1994. She then moved to New Zealand in 2000.

Ingrid has a great love of fashion history and is especially inspired by Vintage Vogue. Her work has evolved over the years with an array of themes displaying eras and nostalgia not to mention a few quirky fun pieces added in for good measure.

Ingrid is always striving to grow as an artist and alongside her usual larger oil paintings. She created a weekly challenge project last year painting a Chanel No.5 bottle 52 different ways drawing inspiration from a variety of art movements, styles and techniques.

This year the theme is Blooms, and a new painting is uploaded every Thursday on her social media accounts. She currently has her paintings in galleries and private homes throughout New Zealand and is keen to encourage and inspire other artists with regular art workshops at her home studio in Orewa.
